Week 0 (21–27 Oct): build. The AI extracts the code from MontageRnD, AdFactory and CreativeCenter and strips out Vortex art, the private Kaye material and the non-commercial MMS_FA aligner (CC-BY-NC). It writes the skill files, a command-line tool with machine-readable output, and READMEs with demo GIFs from your own footage. You start Paddle verification and domain review now (5–7 business days) and approve MIT for the skills; the hosted service stays closed.

Week 1 (28 Oct–3 Nov): publish. The repos go public. The AI gets them listed on skills.sh (a skill appears once people install it), Anthropic's plugin directory (315 plugins, none for video DNA or checking), the official MCP registry, Smithery and the big "awesome" lists. You post once to Show HN and 2–3 subreddits. Base case: 10–60 stars this week; a 6-follower GitHub account amplifies nothing. On the HN front page, AI repos gain on average 121 stars in 24 hours and 289 in a week (arXiv).

Weeks 2–4 (4–20 Nov): iterate. A release and a short post every week, Postiz-style ("Every minor feature was a version"). Base case: 0–3 issues, answered by the AI within hours. Day 30: 50–150 stars, 150–500 installs a month. If it catches: 1,000–1,500 stars, like ffmpeg-skill (1,432 by week 4) and openfilm (1,338 by week 3) (star history).

Weeks 5–8 (21 Nov–18 Dec): buy more tickets. Publish HyperFrames add-on blocks and lyric-sync. Four or five small repos beat polishing one. A "Run it in the cloud" waitlist button on every README measures hosted demand for free.

Weeks 9–12 (19 Dec–19 Jan): hosted beta, only if earned. Base case: no hosted tier; the repos stay as tooling for I3, I5 and I10 and as public proof of your work. Good case: a Paddle beta at $15 and $49 with 4–10 paying by day 90 ($50–150 a month), close to Postiz's early ~$55 a month per 1,000 stars.

Months 4–12: revenue follows automation users, not stars. Postiz went from $700 to $6.5k a month between months 2 and 10 while stars grew only ~65% (12.8k to 21k), after shipping an n8n node and a public API (star history). Your equivalent is an agent API key and an MCP server. Estimate: $10k a month needs 15,000–25,000 stars' worth of reach and a year.

Paying 0–1 4–10 20–50 Postiz: ~$55 a month per 1k stars early

Agents or people?

The evidence

Recommendation: build for agents, sell to the person who runs the agent. Your primary customers are people who already use Claude Code, Codex or Cursor and need short videos: app founders, marketers, developer advocates, small studios. They star 2026 video skills, their agents do the setup, and their own keys pay for the AI. Non-technical creators are a different business (a polished web app marketed on TikTok against OpusClip and CapCut) that belongs in I3 or I10. Add a no-agent web form only if the waitlist asks.

I6.1

video-dna

What it is: Your agent watches 5–20 public or user-supplied videos of one format and writes a style file (hook pattern, shot lengths, captions, music pacing, packaging) that drives prompts for HyperFrames, Remotion or any generator.

Who uses it (people or agents): Agents run it; marketers and founders who want "videos like this format" install it.

Evidence of demand: skills.sh returns nothing for creator or video DNA: an empty, unproven niche. The nearest analogue, cangjie-skill (books and videos into agent skills), has 11.5k stars (GitHub).

Why we can win: You already run this method (video-dna-extract and video-dna-make), and no funded company ships it.

Build effort (AI): About one week, with a demo on your own format.

Compute: Customer-side: the user's agent analyses; transcription and frame grabs run locally.

Monetization: Hosted render plus a library of format styles (formats only, never named people); lead magnet for I3 and I5.

First step: Strip the Kaye material and publish one worked example from your own videos.

I6.2

shorts-qa

What it is: One command scores any MP4 for pace, dead air, loudness against −14 LUFS, caption safe zones, motion in the first 2 seconds and platform specs, and returns pass or fail with fixes as JSON.

Who uses it (people or agents): Agents, as the last step after HyperFrames, Remotion or video-use, so it complements every renderer.

Evidence of demand: Thin. "Loudness" skills top out at 533 installs, but keyless agent video utilities travel (ffmpeg-skill: 2,021 stars, 8.5k npm downloads a month).

Why we can win: The gates already exist in MontageRnD and AdFactory, nobody else ships them, and no model is needed.

Build effort (AI): 3–5 days.

Compute: No model.

Monetization: A check API and batch reports in the hosted plan, plus a free GitHub Action linking to it.

First step: Package pace_metrics, the mixer checks and caption gates behind shorts-qa check --json.

I6.3

HyperFrames blocks

What it is: Beat-cut transitions, karaoke captions and Ukrainian-ready caption styles contributed to HyperFrames' registry, each linking your repos.

Who uses it (people or agents): Agents installing blocks with hyperframes add.

Evidence of demand: The registry skill has 915K installs; the registry takes community pull requests (210 blocks).

Why we can win: It turns HeyGen's reach into distribution instead of competition.

Build effort (AI): 2–4 days.

Compute: Customer-side.

Monetization: None directly; it feeds I6.1 and I6.2.

First step: One pull request with a beat-cut block from MontageRnD's templates.

I6.4

lyric-sync

What it is: Song and lyrics in; word-level timings, beat grid and karaoke data out for any renderer, with Ukrainian stress-aware alignment.

Who uses it (people or agents): Agents making lyric and music videos.

Evidence of demand: Proven but crowded: HyperFrames' music-to-video has 406K installs and already transcribes lyrics (SKILL.md).

Why we can win: Forced alignment and retiming are finer than transcription, and you have the Ukrainian stress tools.

Build effort (AI): 1–2 weeks, including replacing the non-commercial aligner.

Compute: Customer-side.

Monetization: Paid template packs; hosted rendering.

First step: Benchmark a commercially licensed aligner against MMS_FA's ~20 ms median error.

I6.5

story-engine

What it is: The AdvertorialTikTok story schema, beat sheet, shot list and continuity checks as a skill; generation runs on the user's keys.

Who uses it (people or agents): Agents writing short dramas and ads.

Evidence of demand: Mixed: drama-skills has 3.1k stars (GitHub), but micro-drama skills on skills.sh have at most 20 installs.

Why we can win: A working engine with a finished 58-second film.

Build effort (AI): About one week.

Compute: Customer-side.

Monetization: Story template packs; hosted generation is unlikely because Paddle restricts human-like faces.

First step: Confirm ownership and drop the third-party placement passports.

I6.6

ad-teardown skill

What it is: A skill that pulls a competitor's ads and writes a teardown of hooks, offers and formats, backed by an Apify actor.

Who uses it (people or agents): Agents working for app founders and media buyers.

Evidence of demand: ScrapeCreators' research skills have 4.3k stars and feed a paid API; ad-library-teardown has 1,123 installs.

Why we can win: Your scraper costs about $0.00075 per ad, and Apify handles billing and payouts.

Build effort (AI): About one week.

Compute: No model for scraping; the teardown runs on the user's agent.

Monetization: Apify pay-per-event, the I1 track.

First step: Wrap the scraper as an actor and publish the skill that calls it.
