S1 · App Store makeover: go-to-market

Repriced
You're right: on its own, S1 is mostly a prompt. Buyers can get 80% of it for $30–95 on Fiverr or a $9–180/month tool. Sell it as a cheap door-opener and bundle it with S3 app videos, where the price holds.Entry $79–149 · monthly care $99–149 · App growth pack (listing + 3 app ads) $490–790 · the old $290–950 is withdrawn

Why the old price was too high

What the buyer can do instead Cost Source
Fiverr ASO gig, listing plus description median $30; top gig $95 (2,417 reviews) Fiverr ASO category (Wayback, Sep 2025)
DIY tool with AI translation and AI review replies $9–180/month Astro, ASO.dev, MobileAction, AppFollow, Appfigures pricing pages
Google Play's own translation free (human $0.07/word) Play Console help
Productized ASO agency $249–449 one-off; $100 per language ASOMobile agency

The prompt test: price is capped by the buyer's cheapest credible alternative, not by agency rates. If 80% of a service can be had from a $10 tool or a $30 gig, it can't carry a $500 price on its own.

The new shape of S1

Door-openerStore page refresh, $79–149Rewrite, 3 languages, captions, uploaded for them. Priced near Fiverr's top gig, but finished and shown before payment.
Where money repeatsStore care, $99–149/monthReview replies, new languages, release notes, monthly keyword tweak. Done for them, below AppFollow's $129–179 tool.
Where price holdsApp growth pack, $490–790Listing refresh plus 3 app-install video ads from their real screens (S3 apps niche). Video is not a prompt.

What this means for the math: S1 alone no longer reaches $10k; at ~$100 it would need ~100 sales a month. Its job is to open conversations with app studios that S3 and the monthly plan then monetise. These are my estimates, not measured prices.

Who buys and where we find them

Aim at the paying middle: big enough to earn, too small for an agency. A typical subscription app earns about $72 a month after a year, so the money is in the top quarter.

BestSmall studiosLLC, Inc or Ltd; 100k–1M Play installs or 1k–100k iOS ratings; paid features; recent updates. They buy Makeover, Go global, Store care.
MaybeIndie developersPersonal-name seller, 10k–100k installs. Price-sensitive: DIY tools cost $9–15 a month. Offer Refresh only.
Visible weakness Where agents read it What our samples showed
English-only listing in DE, JP, ES Play page in German; Apple storefront lookup 37–54% of mid-size iOS apps
Short title, generic subtitle or short description Listing text Common; scored per app
Captions name screens, not benefits Public screenshots, vision check Not yet measured
Low-star reviews with no reply The 3 reviews shown per Play page; Apple product pages 16 of 24 Play reviews shown had no reply
Active team Last update date 71% updated in 90 days
Pool (Google Play, estimate) Count
Apps with 10k–1M installs 436,708
Owned by US and UK developers (19.3%) ~84,000
Developer accounts (~3.1 apps each) ~27,000
With an English-only listing ~10–15k

At 3,000 emails a month this pool lasts 3–5 months. After that, growth comes from Store care renewals, Canada and newly growing apps (about 50k new Play apps launch each month).

Where we look, legally: Play app pages at human pace, Apple's Search API (about 20 calls a minute), Apple product pages, seller websites. Never Play search, review or batch endpoints.

Fix before launch: your ASO tool's Play suggest, search and review calls (where the 229k autosuggest set came from) and its iOS suggest call use paths the stores' robots.txt blocks. Keep them out of S1.

Delivery What the client gives What we do
a. Files Nothing fastlane folders for both stores, a CSV, captioned PNGs for each language
b. We apply Apple: Marketing role for one app, plus Customer Support for replies. Play: "Manage store presence" and "Reply to reviews" for one app Load the copy into their next iOS version; send the Play edit for review
c. API keys Apple: the personal key of that one-app user. Play: a service account with the same two permissions Post replies, push listing edits

Risks and how we handle them:

What we sell

Superseded: these were the original tiers before the price check above. Use the new shape: $79–149 refresh, $99–149/month care, $490–790 App growth pack.

Tier Price What's in it
Refresh $290 One store, English: title, subtitle, keywords, description, promo text; captions for up to 5 screenshots; 10 replies; files
Makeover $590 Both stores, English + 3 languages; captions on every screenshot in every language; 30 replies; applied or files
Go global $950 English + 8 languages; 60 replies; one extra page for the best market; re-score at day 30
Store care $190/mo Replies to new reviews (up to 150 a month), monthly keyword re-tune, release notes for each update, one new language a month

Extras: a language for $90, 50 more replies for $40. One free revision within 7 days, otherwise a full refund.

Anchors: Fiverr ASO $30–95; ASOMobile's agency $249–449 one-off, $1,000 a month; Clutch agencies $1,000–5,000+ minimum, $1,000–3,500 monthly retainers; translation $0.07–0.18 a word.

What we need from the client

MinimalFiles onlyPick the tier and languages, approve 1–3 highlighted facts, download the folder. No access at all.
FullWe apply and keep replyingRole invites for one app (never a password), full-size screenshots, a Play review export for older reviews, 2–3 replies they like, their changelog.

How we reach out

Day Subject Body (short)
0 {App} in German and Japanese "Your Play page shows English to shoppers in Germany, Spain and Japan, and 3 recent 1–2 star reviews have no reply. I rebuilt it as a sample, side by side with your current page: {link}. Use any of it free. The full set in 3 languages, applied for you, is a fixed $590."
3 Re: {App} in German and Japanese "The 1-star review from {date} ('reminders stopped') still has no reply. Google says a reply can lift that rating by 0.7 stars on average. The draft is ready to paste: {link}"
9, or the day after a new version {App} {version} is live "Saw {version} went out. On iOS your title and keywords only change with a new version, so the next one is the moment. The sample is still here as ready-to-upload files: {link}. Last email from me."

Replies: an AI assistant answers by email and in the sample-page chat. It opens with "I'm an AI assistant", sends the pay link, and passes refunds over $250, legal and angry messages to you. Voice waits until email proves demand.

Timing: send 1–3 weeks after an iOS update, so the makeover lands in the next version. Play has no build constraint.

What clients will ask

A1

"Can you translate my listing into Spanish, German and Japanese?"

How we answer: Yes. We research the terms people search in each country instead of translating English keywords. Copy fits each store's limits, comes back-translated so they can check it, and arrives as one ready-to-upload folder per language.

What it costs them: $590 for both stores, or $290 plus $90 a language for one store.

A2

"Can you just reply to all our reviews from now on?"

How we answer: Store care. They invite us as Customer Support for one app on Apple and give "Reply to reviews" on Play. In month one, 1–2 star drafts wait for one-click approval; thank-yous post automatically.

What it costs them: $190 a month, cancel any time.

A3

"Will this get us to number one for 'habit tracker'?"

How we answer: No one can honestly promise rank. We show today's position, coverage moving from 22 to 78, smaller terms they can win, and the score again at day 30.

What it costs them: Nothing extra. Store care keeps iterating.

A4

"We ship version 2.4 next Thursday. Can it go in that release?"

How we answer: Yes, ready in 2 working days. With the Marketing role we load the copy and screenshots into 2.4 and set the promo text live today. Their developer submits with the build; Play goes live after Google's review.

What it costs them: Their tier price; no rush fee.

A5

"Do you need our Apple ID login?"

How we answer: Never. Take the files, or invite us with a role limited to this one app and remove us afterwards. The assistant tests the invite and never asks for a password or code.

What it costs them: Nothing.
